In a fresh political move, Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy, former YSRCP MLA from Dharmavaram, released a video wishing supporters a happy 2026. The video quickly drew attention for its unexpected content.
Instead of focusing on local Dharmavaram or Andhra Pradesh issues, Kethireddy spoke about Operation Sindoor. He claimed that Indians only realised the operation had ended after a tweet by Donald Trump.
He said people believed something major was happening, but it ended suddenly. Kethireddy further stated that when Tilak Verma performed well in the Asia Cup, the Prime Minister tweeted about Operation Sindoor 2.
According to him, no such operation actually took place. He then shifted focus to economic issues, stating that the dollar rate has risen and the rupee has reached Rs 91 per dollar, while public attention remains elsewhere.
Kethireddy added that an Indian friend from the US told him that if the Indian economy continues on this path, they could return to India and retire comfortably. He presented this as a serious economic concern.
He also spoke about Chandrababu Naidu, alleging that Chandrababu was attempting to influence proceedings in cases filed against him.
Towards the end of the video, Kethireddy said he would start addressing social issues regularly. He mentioned that he would post videos every seven to ten days.
The video has sparked discussion across political circles in Andhra Pradesh. Many citizens are questioning whether the YSR Congress Party is now using personal videos by its leaders to push its narrative.
Some feel that Kethireddy raised the issue of Operation Sindoor far too late. Others believe that YSRCP leaders are attempting to gain attention by speaking on national issues.
Given the double engine government and the progress claimed by Chandrababu both nationally and internationally, critics feel such videos are aimed more at grabbing eyeballs than offering substance.
Many in AP are also amused that Kethireddy chose to speak about Operation Sindoor, widely considered a major success, more than six months after the events concluded.
