YS Vivekananda Reddy murder accused Sunil Kumar Yadav sent legal notices to the film unit of Hatya on Friday. He claims they showed his mother’s character in an offensive way. He demands an explanation within a week.
He warned that if no response comes, he will file a Rs 5 crore defamation suit. The notices were sent via a Supreme Court lawyer.
On March 15, 2019, YS Vivekananda Reddy, brother of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, was found dead. At first it was called a heart attack, but post mortem confirmed it was murder.
His daughter YS Sunitha has been pursuing justice. She asked courts to hand over the investigation to the CBI. The case was eventually transferred to the CBI.
Several Tollywood films drew from this story. One was Vivekam, another was Hatya. Hatya released on OTT this January 25.
Now Sunil alleges the film showed his mother’s character in a vulgar manner. He has now formally sent the legal notices to the makers.
