₹3,100 Crore Dalmia Project Signals New Era for Rayalaseema

Nara Lokesh at Dalmia Bharat project

Minister for IT, Electronics, and Education Nara Lokesh officially laid the foundation stone for Dalmia Bharat Limited’s ₹3,100-crore Line-2 expansion project at Chinnakomerla village in Kadapa district.

The mega-facility, scheduled for commissioning by the third quarter of the 2027–28 financial year, will scale up the plant’s current clinker capacity from 2.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 6.1 MTPA, while boosting its total cement production capacity to a massive 9.6 MTPA.

Once completed, this development will transform the Kadapa site into Dalmia Bharat‘s largest integrated cement manufacturing facility in southern India.

The next-generation green manufacturing ecosystem is designed to run on over 80% renewable power, feature advanced zero liquid discharge systems, and generate roughly 1,000 direct and indirect local job opportunities.

This high-value corporate commitment marks a significant milestone in the state government’s ongoing economic push to aggressively industrialise the Rayalaseema region.

Historically framed through the lens of arid agriculture and intense political rivalries, the district is rapidly pivoting into a central manufacturing corridor for heavy industries.

Coming on the heels of the state’s massive infrastructure layouts, including JSW Steel’s prominent ₹16,350-crore steel plant project in the region, Dalmia Bharat’s multi-billion rupee expansion signals growing investor trust in the state’s policy stability and ease of doing business.

The project is expected to build a strong local economic ecosystem by creating extensive auxiliary business opportunities for regional micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), transport operators, and local contractors.
