The School Education and Social Welfare Departments in Andhra Pradesh are introducing fresh initiatives aimed at encouraging students from government schools and supporting higher education access.
In a notable shift from regular political advertisements, the education department recently published full-page newspaper advertisements showcasing the photographs, marks, and school details of Class 10 toppers from government schools.
Typically a practice observed by private educational groups, this campaign under the leadership of Education Minister Nara Lokesh aims to boost public trust in the state’s public education infrastructure.
Alongside this, the Andhra Pradesh government has moved to establish dedicated Centers of Excellence (CoE) under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Gurukulam initiative. These advanced institutes are set up to provide free corporate-level training, expert guidance, and modern facilities to clear national-level competitive entrance exams like IIT-JEE and NEET.
The primary objective of these specialized training centers is to significantly increase the admissions and representation of SC, ST, and underprivileged students in premier national institutions like the IITs, NITs, and AIIMS.
