The demolition of actor Nagarjuna’s N-Convention sent shockwaves throughout the entire state of Telangana.
The government’s appointed body, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA), demolished N-Convention for being built by encroaching on the Full Tank Level (FTL) zone of Thammikunta Lake in Madhapur.

Nagarjuna claimed that the demolition was unlawful, asserting that the N-Convention land is patta land. However, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath confirmed that there was no permission to build N-Convention in the first place.
In a recent interview, Ranganath emphasized that the entire structure was within the FTL zone and added that there was no permission to construct that structure.

He explained that back in 2014, the GHMC issued a preliminary notice against the construction of N-Convention. In response, the owners of N-Convention filed a petition in the High Court against this notification.
Later, the court ordered a survey to be conducted in the presence of N-Convention’s owners. After the survey was carried out, a secondary notification was issued, confirming that the construction was within the FTL of Thammidikunta Lake.

Ranganath further stated that the N-Convention owners attempted to regularize this unauthorized structure under the Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS) but failed to obtain permission from the concerned authorities for the past 10 years.
Responding to Nagarjuna’s claims of patta land, Ranganath clarified that while patta can be granted for that land, it should be used for agriculture, not for constructing buildings like N-Convention.
