Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that it is unfortunate that officials are also participating in the conspiracies of YSR Congress.
Speaking at a media conference held at Gudur, Chandrababu questioned why it is difficult to give pensions to the beneficiaries at their homes.
“Why should the aged people do rounds to banks to withdraw money? Last month they said the bank details were not available with them. Now they are saying they have 75% of bank accounts available. How did they get them overnight? This is a conspiracy by the Government to kill people and blame the opposition,” he said.
He demonstrated with numbers that there are enough staff with the Government to deliver pensions at home.
“There are 1,26,000 employees. There are 15,000 Panchayat Secretaries, 5,000 Velugu Staff, 5,000 Agriculture Staff, and 3,000 horticulture staff. All these people are present at the village level and know the people and every house in the villages. Each employee needs to give pensions only for 45 people. What is the difficulty?,” Naidu questioned.
He also questioned what the secretariat staff were doing.
“41,230 secretariat staff are being the BLOs right now. They are trying to escape pensions distribution saying that they need to distribute voters slips. Voter slips are distributed a day or two before the polling. What will they do from the 1st? The same people need to go to every house to distribute slips anyway. This will be a pre-rehearsal too for them,” Chandrababu said.
