Prashant Kishor Faces Defection Prior to Polls

Prashant Kishor faces Jan Suraaj defection

Prashant Kishor, chief of Jan Suraaj, is now facing the challenges of real-time politics. He was recently criticised as a “coward” for not contesting in the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for November 11 and 14.

Adding to his troubles, Jan Suraaj’s Danapur candidate Akhilesh Kumar went missing on nomination day, reportedly to join the BJP. The sudden disappearance created a stir among political circles and triggered widespread discussions across Bihar.

Analysts say Kishor is now experiencing political setbacks even before the elections. Typically, defections occur after results, but this early switch has surprised many. It signals growing uncertainty within Jan Suraaj’s ranks.

As per exit poll predictions, the BJP-led NDA may secure around 160 seats, while the Congress-led Mahagathbandhan could manage roughly 70 seats. Kishor’s Jan Suraaj is expected to win only one seat.

Observers believe these projections pushed Akhilesh Kumar to jump ship early, seeking political stability and visibility. The move also serves as a reality check for Prashant Kishor, once known as a master strategist before turning a full-time politician.
