Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is busy with the exercise to select the next TTD Chairman. YV Subbareddy is already in the post for two terms and with elections coming Jagan wants to use the post for the party’s benefit.
We have been hearing the names of former MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, and MLC Janga Krishnamurthy in the race until now. Now the name of Siddha Raghavarao cropped up all of a sudden.
Hailing from the Vysya community, Raghavarao is a non-controversial leader who maintained a good rapport with people from all parties. He is also a money bag with Granite businesses.
His appointment can bring a big amount of election funds to the party. Also, the Vysya community is not happy with Jagan Government for various reasons. Jagan opines his appointment may pacify them.
Siddha was the minister in Chandrababu’s cabinet between 2014 and 2019. He was made to contest as Ongole MP in 2019 and he lost. Jagan Government harassed him with vigilance probes on his businesses and he finally gave up and joined YSR Congress.
