Vijay Needs 10 Seats, Who Will Support Him Now?

Vijay TVK election result update

Vijay has made a strong entry into Tamil Nadu politics with his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerging as the single largest force. But despite the big win, he is still short of forming the government.

TVK has secured 108 seats, falling just 10 short of the majority mark of 118. That leaves Vijay with a clear challenge, find support, and find it fast.

The real question now is where that support will come from.

Vijay had campaigned strongly against both the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Bharatiya Janata Party. That makes any direct tie-up politically tricky. Aligning with either side could raise questions about consistency.

At the same time, signals are already emerging. Rahul Gandhi is said to have spoken to Vijay and also held discussions with M. K. Stalin. The Indian National Congress appears open, but nothing is final yet.

Smaller parties could turn out to be the deciding factor. Groups like VCK, CPI, CPM and DMDK from the DMK side, along with PMK and AMMK from the NDA side, hold enough numbers to bridge the gap if they come together.

Meanwhile, Narendra Modi has congratulated Vijay and assured support for the state’s development. Leaders from BJP have also hinted at the possibility of bringing TVK closer to the NDA.

Vijay now stands at a crucial moment. The next move he makes will not just decide who forms the government, but could also reshape alliances in Tamil Nadu.

He has the numbers to lead, now he needs the numbers to govern.
