The upcoming elections in West Godavari district, particularly in constituencies like Tadepalligudem, seem to be presenting challenges for the YSRCP in finalizing candidates.
While the ruling party has signaled clarity in constituencies such as Bhimavaram, Narsapuram, Tanuku, and Achanta, the issue in Tadepalligudem appears to be a matter of contention.
Minister Kottu Satyanarayana, representing Tadepalligudem, is facing a complex situation as multiple candidates are being considered to replace him.
Among the contenders, Vaddi Raghuram, the Vice-Chairman of AP State Aqua Culture Development Authority (APSADA), has emerged as a prominent figure. Raghuram, recently accorded cabinet status by the state government, is under scrutiny during the ongoing survey.
The minister’s son, Kottu Vishal, is also in the race for the ticket. The party is reportedly considering a former MLA as well, creating discussions and speculations among the cadre. The survey aims to assess the popularity and viability of each candidate in the constituency.
The existing calm in Minister Kottu’s camp seems to be disturbed by the survey results and the consideration of alternative candidates.
Kottu Satyanarayana is reportedly making efforts to meet state leaders, signaling concerns about a potential change in the candidate selection.
Some within the party believe that Minister Kottu Satyanarayana is a strong candidate, while others express concerns about the party’s future if the candidate is not changed.
The situation is further complicated by the perceived challenge from the Telugu Desam-Jana Sena alliance, and there is a growing sense of urgency to resolve the matter and strengthen the party’s position in Tadepalligudem.
