The Guntur (West) assembly segment has been a stronghold for TDP.
Except for the 2009 elections when Kanna Lakshminarayana won Guntur (West) as a Congress nominee, TDP has consistently secured victories in the constituency.
In the 2019 elections, Maddali Giri (TDP) emerged victorious in Guntur (West), defeating Yesu Ratnam (YSRCP) by a margin of 16k votes.
Despite the strong wave in favor of Jagan Mohan Reddy in the 2019 elections, TDP retained control of the segment.
Given these historical facts, the decision of Minister Vidudala Rajini to move from Chilakaluripet to Guntur (West) raises the million-dollar question.
According to social engineering strategies, YSRCP aims to shift the minister to Guntur (West) due to the substantial number of BC votes in the segment.
Although YSRCP utilized the BC card in the 2019 elections, victory seemed inevitable for TDP.
Reportedly, Rajini agreed to the forced move from Peta to Guntur as she had no other option. If she had refused, YSRCP would have denied her the ticket to contest.
However, Rajini made a self-goal by accepting the change in constituency.
On the other side, the attacks on Rajini’s office on December 31st have raised suspicions among the people.
She opened a new party office in the segment to conduct election activities, and the attacks, which party leaders criticized severely in the past, have never happened here before.
TDP alleges that the attacks on the party office are fake and part of YSRCP’s political drama.
TDP leaders released videos and photos of anti-social elements suspected to be involved in the attempt to demolish the office with Rajini. This has caused confusion and fear among the people.
