Police have intensified the investigation into the attack on the TDP Central Office. The police have concluded that an MLC from YSRCP was the mastermind behind the incident. It was confirmed that seven followers of former MLA Alla Rama Krishna Reddy from Tadepalli were involved in the attack. The police identified the accused based on CCTV footage.
Cases are likely to be registered against 150 individuals in connection with this incident. The police investigation revealed that followers of YSRCP leaders Avinash, MLC Appireddy, and former MLA RK were involved in the attack on the TDP office.
There are allegations that Panuganti Chaitanya, who had been a key follower of MLC Appireddy in Guntur during the previous YSRCP government, led the attack on the TDP office. However, Chaitanya left the city the same day and went into hiding, shocked by the unexpected results of the general elections and the TDP coming to power. Along with him, many key leaders also went into hiding. Police sources estimate that Chaitanya is currently hiding in Bangalore.
The TDP central office near Mangalagiri was attacked on October 19, 2021. YSRCP workers armed with rods, sticks, and stones broke the gates of the TDP office and entered the premises. They vandalized chairs, tables, and mirrors in the office. TDP workers who tried to stop them were beaten up, and office staff were severely injured, with two people being hurt in the attack.
Despite complaints from TDP leaders, the police initially ignored the incident. However, with the recent change in government and TDP coming to power, the police have intensified the investigation into this case.
