The rise of AI generated content on platforms like YouTube and Instagram shows a clear shift in how entertainment is consumed. Simple animated videos are now attracting massive audiences by combining technology with relatable storytelling and easy viewing.
A strong example is “Bandar Apna Dost”, an Indian YouTube channel that has emerged as the world’s highest earning AI slop creator. The channel has reportedly earned over Rs 38 crore so far, driven by short and highly shareable videos.
The main character, Boltu, is a mischievous monkey created using VFX and animation. He often appears alongside a Hulk like character in quick and playful clips that rely on repetition and visual humour.
Some of these videos have crossed 67 million views, highlighting the strong demand for low effort and high appeal formats. Their success has also triggered debates on X about the growing role of AI in content creation.
This trend reflects changing viewer preferences rather than pure luck. AI tools allow creators to produce large volumes of familiar content without expensive shoots, making it easier to scale output and revenue.
For Indian audiences, where mobile viewing dominates, short videos fit perfectly into daily consumption habits. This drives advertising income through volume, even if individual videos lack depth.
At the same time, questions remain about long term sustainability. Algorithm changes may target such content, and the flood of similar videos risks lowering overall quality on platforms.
Even so, channels like this highlight how AI can monetise creativity at scale. In fast growing digital markets like India, AI driven entertainment is proving hard to ignore.
