A controversy has surfaced at Tirumala Venkateswara Temple after allegations that temple norms were violated during a birthday celebration inside a guest house in Tirumala.
According to reports, a birthday cake was cut for Tanuja inside the Sri Vibhava guest house, which falls under the Sri Padmavati Inquiry Office limits in Tirumala. Bringing cakes to Tirumala and celebrating birthdays is against the rules laid down by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
It is learnt that Duvvada Srinivas, Divvela Madhuri and Tanuja had come to Tirumala on Thursday for darshan. During their stay at the guest house, Madhuri allegedly arranged the cake cutting to celebrate Tanuja’s birthday.
The celebration was reportedly recorded on video and later shared on social media, which led to the issue gaining attention.
Following the circulation of the video, TTD officials took note of the matter and are now examining whether temple guidelines were violated.
This is not the first time Madhuri and Duvvada Srinivas have been involved in controversy during their Tirumala visits. Earlier, a photoshoot taken near the temple premises had also attracted criticism.
The latest incident has once again sparked discussion about maintaining discipline and respecting the strict guidelines that govern activities at the sacred hill shrine.
This time, the TTD has given a complaint to the vigilance police who have undertaken inquiry. It remains to be seen how things shape up for Duvvada couple in the coming days.
