On Tuesday, Akshay Kumar shared the news about his citizenship on his social media platforms. He revealed that he had received his Indian citizenship certificate from the Ministry of Home Affairs. He posted a photo of his certificate, which showed his name and other details, on his social media accounts.
Akshay Kumar had been trolled many times in the past for his citizenship. He had acted in many patriotic films such as Holiday, Kesari, etc., where people mocked him for being a Canadian actor working in Indian patriotic films. He also said that this had become monotonous for him and that he was tired of the jokes.
His citizenship came under scrutiny when he did not vote in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. It became more popular when he interviewed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Last week, his new movie ‘OMG 2’ came out, which features Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam.
