A tragic incident occurred in Nainital during the harsh winter. A car driver lost his life while trying to stay warm through the night. He was sleeping inside his parked vehicle and used a coal heater to fight the cold.
The driver, identified as Manish Gandhar, had travelled from Noida to Nainital with tourists. After dropping them, he remained in the car alone. Due to the extreme temperature, he reportedly lit an angithi inside the vehicle and shut all the windows before sleeping.
By morning, locals noticed he had not stepped out of the car. Attempts to wake him went unanswered, prompting them to call the police. Officers broke the car window to rescue him, but it was too late.
Manish had passed away due to smoke and toxic gases that filled the locked car. The coal fumes reportedly caused suffocation, leading to his death in his sleep. A video from the spot has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.
This heartbreaking accident stands as a severe warning. Lighting coal, heaters, or any fire-based warming method inside a sealed vehicle can be fatal. Such decisions can silently take away lives due to toxic gas inhalation and lack of oxygen.
