A tragic accident was reported from Odisha, where an eight year old child lost one eye after a chips packet burst near a gas stove. The incident has shocked many and raised safety concerns.
The boy was returning home from tuition when he stopped at a shop to buy a packet of chips. After reaching home, he entered the kitchen where his mother was cooking food.
At the time, the gas stove was switched on. The mother stepped out of the kitchen for a few minutes, leaving the child inside holding the chips packet.
Suddenly, the packet slipped from the child’s hand and fell near the gas flame. As soon as it touched the fire, the packet burst loudly with a strong blast.
The explosion caused severe injury to the child’s eye. He began crying in pain, and his mother rushed back into the kitchen after hearing the sound.
The family immediately took the child to a hospital. Doctors confirmed that the injury was critical and that the child had permanently lost vision in one eye.
This incident highlights the dangers of keeping packed food items near open flames. It also serves as a warning for parents to be extra cautious when children are around gas stoves and fire.
