A huge failure in ground security has come to everyone’s attention in the ongoing World Cup final. A fan entered the ground escaping all the different layers of security while Virat and Rahul were on the crease.
Few security personnels chased the guy but couldn’t catch him until he reached Virat. Later, the security took him away.
The man turned out to be a Palestine supporter wearing a t-shirt saying ‘Stop Bombing Palestine’ and had a face mask with the Palestinian flag on it.
Cricket is considered a gentleman’s game and any kind of political statement is considered unwanted during sporting events.
Not only that the man entered the stadium to meet his idol but for his political agenda knowing that the whole world would be watching the event. PM Modi and Australian Deputy PM, Richard Marles, will be watching the match in the stadium.
Given that the security should have been unreachable. But this incident proved the contrary.
This breach has raised several questions over the ground security and whether the invader had any inside help?
