Ex-MP and convicted rapist Prajwal Revanna is facing fresh trouble after shocking details emerged from a mobile phone seized inside Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
The phone was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory after police recovered it during a surprise search of his prison cell. The FSL examination has reportedly found 173 video files on the device. Several of them were obscene and sexually explicit. Three videos allegedly featured Prajwal Revanna himself. The phone also contained movie clips, web-series content and other videos.
The investigation has also found that the phone was allegedly used for WhatsApp communication and video calls with several women. Police are particularly looking at contacts involving women who had appeared with Prajwal in explicit videos before his arrest. Some of them may be questioned as part of the investigation.
But the biggest shock is how the phone entered a high-security prison.
Police suspect that a prison warder helped get the mobile phone inside. Investigators are also probing the alleged involvement of other prisoners and outsiders in the smuggling operation. Several people have been arrested in connection with the jail phone case.
A pen drive recovered from the prison cell is also under investigation and reportedly contains more than 150 videos. Police are examining both the phone and the pen drive, along with call records and other digital evidence.
Prajwal Revanna is already serving a life sentence after being convicted in a rape case. Now, the jail phone investigation has opened another disturbing chapter.
This raises serious questions about prison security, the alleged smuggling network and what exactly was happening behind the walls of a high-security jail.
