Several videos from Delhi’s metros have recently made the news, from a couple cuddling and kissing to Rhythm Chanana’s clothing grabbing attention to a lady dousing a fellow passenger with pepper spray after a dispute. The Delhi Metro has seen it all. A video of a couple kissing passionately on the Blue Line metro is currently going viral on social media.
The pair can be seen in the footage sitting on the metro coach’s floor. Later on in the film, the boy kisses the female, who is sitting on his lap and reclining down. The announcement woman can be heard indicating that the next stop is “Jhandewalan,” which is on the blue line, in the background. A user commented on the video when it was being uploaded, “OMG WHAT” is this?
On the internet, there is a lot of outrage about the video. A Twitter user said, “How are people silent and not speaking out against them?”
“DMRC expects its commuters to behave responsibly while using the Delhi Metro and follow all social etiquette and protocols that are acceptable in society,” said Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director, Corporate Communications, in a statement.
Commuters should refrain from engaging in any offensive or indecent behavior that might make their fellow commuters uncomfortable or upset them. In reality, Section 59 of the DMRC Operations and Maintenance Act makes obscenity a criminal crime.
He further urged commuters to avoid engaging in such “obscene activities and maintain social etiquette/decorum” while on the road. He urged his fellow commuters to promptly report similar events to the nearest Metro or CISF station so that prompt action may be taken.
