Hotels across the country are witnessing a sharp rise in advance bookings for Valentine’s Day. Even with several days still left, rooms are filling up quickly in many cities and tourist destinations. Bookings have increased by nearly 175 percent this year.
Couples are planning short trips, staycations, and romantic outings to mark the occasion. Demand is rising across metro cities, hill stations, and beach destinations. Many premium hotels are already close to full capacity.
With availability shrinking fast, last minute travellers may face difficulty finding rooms. Hoteliers say enquiries are increasing every hour. The trend highlights how strongly people want to celebrate the day with their partners.
Valentine’s Day may have originated in western countries, but it is now widely celebrated in India. Young people, in particular, see it as a symbol of love and togetherness. Restaurants, cafes, and travel businesses also benefit from the festive mood.
At the same time, the day carries a deeper significance for many Indians. On this date, 40 brave soldiers lost their lives in Pulwama. While some celebrate, others observe it as a black day.
Love should also include respect, gratitude, and remembrance for the nation. Remembering sacrifices alongside celebrations adds meaning to the day.
