A video featuring a Canada-based Indian man is going viral. In the clip, he explains why many NRIs refuse to return to India, even after saving large sums of money and becoming financially stable abroad.
He says most Indians move overseas with the goal of earning well, saving enough and eventually returning home. However, this is now becoming rare, as many feel foreign countries offer a better quality of life.
According to him, even after saving 5–6 crore, people avoid coming back because earning opportunities are stronger in places like Canada and the United States. He claims it is easier to earn money overseas compared to India.
He adds that foreign countries have cleaner environments, lower pollution levels and better climate conditions. He also believes rules are followed more strictly abroad and that corruption is comparatively lower.
He explains that overtime pay is respected in countries like Canada, while in India cheap labour often leads to exploitation. He says that working extra hours in India does not always mean fair payment.
He also states that healthcare and education are either free or heavily subsidised in some countries. Maternity care, he claims, is more supportive and structured compared to India.
He argues that in India, public hospitals and government schools struggle with infrastructure and quality. This pushes parents to rely on private institutions which are often costly. Abroad, public facilities provide basic services at affordable rates.
The video suggests that if India improves governance, creates strong healthcare and education systems, and offers wider employment opportunities, fewer people would feel the need to settle abroad permanently.
