Hosting the Olympics will be a huge moment for any country. Earlier this year during the Paris Olympics, it was reported that India is interested in hosting the 2036 Olympics and working towards the same.

As the first step of the process, the government of India has now officially expressed its interest in hosting the Olympics in 2036. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has officially submitted a Letter of Intent to the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Future Host Commission on October 1.

The central government is viewing this opportunity to various benefits, fostering economic growth, social progress, and youth empowerment across the country. It was stated that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always wanted to host the Olympics and the Para Olympics.

Los Angeles, USA, will host the 2028 Summer Olympics, and Brisbane, Australia, will host the 2032 Games.

“India is preparing to host the 2036 Olympics. In this regard, the input from athletes who have played in previous Olympics is very important. We want to document this and share it with the government so that we don’t miss out on any small details in the preparation for 2036,” PM Modi stated.




Along with India, nine other nations, including Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey, Poland, Egypt, and South Korea, in vying for the 2036 Olympics.
