Speaking on a podcast, Healy said you can still see her love for the game, but the hunger to compete at the highest level is no longer the same. She believes this is the right time for her to step away.

Will miss T20Is against India

You will not see Healy in the three T20 matches against India starting February 15 in Sydney. Australia has already begun planning for the 2026 T20 World Cup, and she will not be part of that tournament.

Final matches set in Perth

Despite skipping the T20Is, Healy will lead Australia in the three ODIs and the one off Test match. The Test at the WACA in Perth from March 6 to 9 will be her final international game at home.

Rise from teenage debut

Healy made her Australia debut in 2010 as a teenager and quickly became a key player across formats. You have watched her grow into one of the most influential figures in women’s cricket.

Record breaking batter

Over her career, Healy scored more than 7,000 runs across formats. Her unbeaten 170 in the 2022 ODI World Cup final still stands as the highest score in any World Cup final.

Outstanding wicketkeeper

As a wicketkeeper, Healy stayed sharp and reliable throughout her career. You can see her record for the most dismissals in women’s T20 internationals and her strong numbers in ODIs.

Trophy filled career

Healy’s career is packed with success. She won eight ICC World Cups, including six T20 World Cups and two ODI World Cups, along with multiple individual awards.

Leadership success as captain

After Meg Lanning retired, Healy took over as full time captain in 2023. Under her leadership, you saw Australia dominate England in the 2025 Ashes and win close to 80 percent of their matches.

Life beyond cricket

Healy is married to Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc and is the niece of former Test wicketkeeper Ian Healy. After retirement, you are likely to hear her more in commentary, where she has already impressed.
