Seniors Struggle, Young India A Players Shine

Dhruv Jurel

With no Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma, the main Test team looks lighter and less sure this time.

The big names are gone and what’s left is a team still finding its feet. But just when the spotlight goes out, India A steps in—and they’re shining bright.

In the first India A Test at Canterbury, Dhruv Jurel’s 94 and Reddy’s 52* stood tall. The second Test at Northampton was even better—KL Rahul’s 116 was the highlight but it’s the young guns that kept pushing.

Jurel added a calm 53* , Karun scored a solid 40 and Reddy hit a mature 42. These aren’t one off hits—these are signs of readiness.

Jurel is no longer just a backup. He’s scoring in every game. Reddy is trusted at No. 4 and is showing power and patience.

Karun is back from the sidelines and looks hungry again. These players are not sitting quietly—they’re making sure they’re noticed.

While the senior team looks shaky and unsure, the India A team is playing like they have nothing to lose.

They’re showing control, belief and hunger. The main team is under pressure and it’s the A team that’s turning heads with solid batting, intent and teamwork.

India A is no longer just a backup plan. The performances are strong, steady and loud.

With seniors out and questions rising, it might be time to give these young stars a chance. Because right now, they’re not waiting—they’re already winning.
