Royal Challengers Bangalore has scripted a remarkable turnaround in the ongoing season of IPL. From being in the last position on the table to actually having a chance in the playoffs, the Bengaluru-based side has been rampant, to say the least.
But the real question here is, can RCB actually qualify for the playoffs by defying all odds? For that to happen, the side must defeat CSK with a big margin which would result in CSK and RCB having the same points in the group and RCB pipping ahead with the Net run-rate.
But even if RCB wins the game against CSK and goes ahead in terms of run rate, SRH and LSG are still in the race. SRH has 14 points and LSG has 12. If SRH wins even a single game, it would qualify for the playoffs. Then coming to LSG, if this team wins both the remaining games, it would mean that LSG will qualify as well.
So, even if RCB wins the CSK game, this Virat Kohli-featuring side must pray that both SRH and LSG lose their remaining two games. This essentially means that RCB doesn’t have its fate in its hands and will have to depend on other teams for qualification.
