The T20 world cup is commencing in May which means the priced tournament will be commencing right after the completion of IPL. As it appears, if the IPL tournament is a yardstick, then danger bells are firmly ringing for Team India.
For instance, the likes of Travis Head, Sunil Narine, Phil Salt, Fraser McGurk, and other overseas players are putting on monstrous performances and absolutely devastating the powerplay period. On the other hand, we don’t have Indian mainstream players in such a form.
Abhishek Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma are in great hitting form but they are not a part of the Indian T20 plan.
The overseas players are outrightly dominating the IPL when it comes to the powerplay and also the closing stage of the innings.
Indian players Rohit, Kohli, Gill, Rahul, and others are just playing at a standard pace. If we compare this with the playing styles of other IPL players from International circuits, our numbers are like peanuts. If this continues on the bigger stage in the World Cup, then team India could be in for a humiliating season.
