Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) left cricket fans awe-struck with their sensational performance, clinching a historic 10-wicket win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2024 season.
The match, held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, witnessed SRH’s remarkable bowling display, limiting LSG to 165 runs.
Later Travis Head’s blistering 89 off 30 deliveries, coupled with Abhishek Sharma’s aggressive 75 off 28, powered SRH to chase down the target in just 9.4 overs, etching their name in IPL history.
This victory not only marked SRH as the first team to chase down a 160+ total within 10 overs but also showcased their dominance in the powerplay, scoring over 100 runs twice this season.
This was also the first wicketless chase this season. It felt like while other teams were playing T20 cricket, SRH was playing T10 cricket.
On the flip side, LSG faced a nightmare start, struggling against Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s brilliance and managing their lowest powerplay score ever. Despite a valiant effort from Badoni and Pooran, LSG couldn’t thwart SRH’s onslaught.
Furthermore, SRH’s victory dealt a severe blow to Mumbai Indians’ playoff aspirations. They are eliminated from the playoffs after this historic win by SRH.
