India cricketer and Delhi Capitals spinner Vipraj Nigam is facing serious allegations after a Hyderabad based woman reportedly reached his home in Barabanki while he was away with the Indian team in Japan.
According to a reports, the woman arrived outside Nigam’s house on September 20 and waited in her car for around two to three hours.
She had earlier accused the cricketer of physical and sexual assault, alleging that he had promised to marry her.
Nigam was not at home at the time as he is currently in Japan with the Indian team. He was recently added to the squad as a replacement for injured spinner Varun Chakaravarthy.
The woman reportedly told Nigam’s family that she only wanted to speak with him and did not want to create any dispute.
His father later spoke to her over the phone and reportedly assured her that the family would discuss the matter with her after a week. She then left.
The case dates back to November 2025, when Nigam reportedly filed an FIR against the woman at Kotwali Nagar in Barabanki.
He alleged that she was blackmailing and harassing him and had threatened to leak fabricated compromising videos if her financial demands were not met.
A month later, the woman filed a counter case with Noida Police. In her complaint, she accused Nigam of rape and physical abuse, claiming that he had lured her with a promise of marriage.
The latest incident has once again brought the case into focus, but with complaints filed by both sides, the matter is still under investigation.
Nigam remains in Japan with the Indian squad, while the allegations and counter allegations are yet to be settled.
