BKU: Industry Hit Loading? Dulquer’s I’m Game Crucial?

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit box office success

Nivin Pauly‘s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit directed by Girish A D was released in theatres on August 21st and has received super positive responses from audiences and critics alike.

Since its announcement, this film has had massive expectations among the audience, as director Girish A D and actress Mamitha Baiju have collaborated for this film after the massive success of Premalu.

However, many viewers, after watching the film, have called it one of the best feel-good films released in Malayalam in recent years and have highly appreciated Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s acting performances in the film. Consequently, with super positive responses from the audience, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is now on a rampage at the box office.

According to reports, as of yesterday, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has collected more than 173 crores worldwide and by the end of the day, it will cross the 200 crore mark at the box office. In Kerala, the film has crossed more than 78 crores and become the highest-grossing Malayalam film in its second weekend by a huge gap.

Following the blockbuster trend of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, many trade experts are suggesting that if the current trend continues, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit will easily cross the 250 crore mark in its final run.

They point to the release of the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit on September 4th and predict that if both versions emerge as successful ventures in their respective markets, then Bethlehem Kudumba Unit could easily cross the 300 crore mark.

Additionally, they note that if by any chance Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game, which is releasing on September 3rd, receives disastrous responses, then Bethlehem Kudumba Unit will enjoy a free theatrical run for the next 2–3 weeks, creating a huge opportunity for the film to become an industry hit.

Meanwhile, the Tamil and Telugu dubbed trailers of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, which were released yesterday, have received negative responses from the audience.

Many viewers who have already watched the original version of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit feel that the dubbing quality is very poor and suggest that people who have not watched the film yet watch the original version instead of the dubbed versions to enjoy the original references and experience the authenticity of the film.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen how Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is going to perform at the box office and whether it emerges as the new industry hit of Malayalam cinema in the following days.
