Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by AGS Productions’ Archana Kalpathi, is all set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on February 21st.
With only a few days left for the release, the Dragon team, including producer Archana Kalpathi, is working round the clock to promote the movie by giving interviews to popular YouTube channels.
During a recent interview, the anchor asked Archana Kalpathi why big movies like Vidaamuyarchi, Indian 2, and Kanguva failed at the box office, even though all were technically well-made.
In response, Archana Kalpathi stated that despite their technical excellence, the major reason for these films’ failures was the lack of a solid story.
She further added that filmmakers should not blame audiences for a movie’s failure, as they are the ones who turn up in huge numbers to celebrate their favorite stars. She emphasized that AGS Productions always plays it safe when producing big-star movies by choosing only commercial entertainers.
AGS Productions proved Archana Kalpathi’s statement last year by delivering the biggest commercial entertainer, Vijay’s GOAT, which was the only big-star movie to end up as a blockbuster success in recent times.
