Suriya’s Kanguva, which was released in theatres on 14th November, ended up as a terrible disaster. Following the movie’s negative reception, Suriya’s wife, Jyothika, posted a write-up on her Instagram account, that received severe backlash from the netizens.

Recently, Jyothika, in an interview, opened up about the disastrous reviews of Kanguva and termed it as unfair, which has now become viral on social media.
Jyothika stated that she has seen many poor-quality films that became a blockbuster success in box office collections, and the reviewers were not very harsh for any of the films.

But only her husband’s movie got this level of criticism, which is not fair; some portions of the film may not have worked well for the audience, but the team has worked very hard to deliver the film.
Also, she mentioned that it affected her when she saw that the film has received harsher reviews than some bad movies, and the media is so biased.

After this, social media users responded that Kanguva is not a good movie, and despite it was made with a budget of 350 crores and had lots of hard work, the film failed to meet even 10% of the audience’s expectations, and Jyothika has to move on from Kanguva reviews; Suriya will strike back big in Retro.
Suriya’s Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1st. It remains to be seen whether Retro becomes a blockbuster success and provides a positive turnaround for the couple after the failure of Kanguva.
