Retro, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, was released in theaters yesterday and has received mixed responses from the audience.
Many viewers responded that Karthik Subbaraj made a major blunder in the movie by casting Pooja Hegde, as the audience feels frustrated by her acting performance in the emotional scenes.
Some netizens on social media commented on how Karthik Subbaraj got the idea to cast Pooja Hegde in such an emotional character, stating that she doesn’t even know how to perform in emotional scenes and just opens her nostrils.
Everyone expected that Pooja Hegde would make a comeback with Retro, as her past few movies, including Beast, Cirkus, and Deva, ended up as failures. Following seven back-to-back failures, her flop streak continues with Retro.
Also, some Kollywood audiences commented that it looks like Pooja Hegde is slowly turning out to be an iron leg, as even promising films like Deva and Retro have turned out to be disasters.
Following Retro, Pooja Hegde is now going to appear in an item song in Rajinikanth’s Coolie and a lead role in Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana-4.
It remains to be seen whether these movies will end up as successful ventures and help Pooja Hegde make a comeback from her series of failures.
