Hero Turns Vetrimaaran’s Headache: Big Film to be Shelved?

Simbu Arasan issue

Following the failure of Thug Life, Simbu is currently working as the lead in Vetrimaaran’s Arasan. Earlier reports suggested an October release. However, the film now faces uncertainty due to an unresolved issue linked to Simbu’s past commitment.

After Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, Simbu had signed Corona Kumar under Vels Film International. He reportedly received an advance of 5 crores. The project was later shelved due to undisclosed reasons.

Simbu had agreed to return the advance amount to the production house. However, Vels Film International claimed additional losses. They stated that over 7 crores were spent on pre production along with the advance.

Based on this, the production house demanded nearly 12 crores as compensation. Simbu’s side rejected this claim. He agreed only to return the 5 crore advance he had received earlier.

The issue has now escalated further between both parties. Vels Film International has approached the Producers Council. They requested a halt to the shooting of Arasan until the matter is resolved.

Due to this development, the shooting of Arasan is reportedly at risk. Negotiations are currently ongoing between both sides. The outcome of these talks will decide the film’s future.

Meanwhile, some reports suggest that Vetrimaaran may consider replacing Simbu. Emerging actor Ken Karunas is being discussed as a possible alternative. However, this remains unconfirmed.

These rumours have triggered reactions from Simbu’s fans on social media. Many are urging him to resolve the issue quickly. They believe Arasan could be a strong comeback opportunity.

Simbu is currently going through a challenging phase in his career. Apart from Maanadu, his recent films have not performed well. This makes Arasan an important project for him.

Many believe Vetrimaaran’s track record gives the film strong potential. Fans feel it could help Simbu regain his position. They hope the issue is resolved without affecting the project.

At present, all developments remain speculative. There has been no official confirmation from the makers. It remains to be seen how the dispute unfolds in the coming days.
