
Sivakarthikeyan, after the success of Amaran, is now acting as the lead in two movies: Madharasi, directed by AR Murugadoss, and Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara.
The shooting of Madharasi is still pending, and according to reports, only 15% of the shoot remains. The filming is likely to resume soon.

Now, the Madharasi team has officially announced that the movie will be released on September 5th as an Onam special.
Early buzz suggested that the team was planning a Diwali release; however, it is now confirmed that the movie will be released in September.

Following this, trade experts commented that the Madharasi team has locked in a perfect date, as there is unlikely to be any clash. The movie will most likely have a solo release since Suriya 45 and Sardar 2 are aiming for a Diwali release.
Also, AR Murugadoss, after the terrible disaster of Sikandar, is returning with Madharasi. Many audiences, after watching Sikandar, trolled AR Murugadoss, saying that even Darbar and Spyder look better now because of Sikandar. So, Madharasi is seen as the last chance for him to prove himself.

Additionally, there is information that the OTT rights for Madharasi have been acquired by Netflix, and the official announcement regarding this will be released soon.
