Sobhita Dhulipala received a special birthday surprise from the makers of Vettuvam, who unveiled her first-look poster, presenting the actress in a strikingly different avatar.
In the poster, Sobhita is seen standing atop a brick wall under dark, stormy clouds. Dressed in black and carrying an intense expression, she exudes a mysterious and powerful presence.
Directed by controversial director Pa. Ranjith, Vettuvam stars VR Dinesh and Arya in lead roles, with Sobhita playing a key character. The film is already one of the most anticipated projects in Tamil cinema, and Sobhita’s latest comments have further increased curiosity around her role.
Speaking in a recent interview, Sobhita described Vettuvam as the best work of her career so far.
“I believe it’s my best work till date. It’s an extraordinary film, and I’m very excited for people to watch it and see me in it. I will be seen in a crazy avatar. The film has action and dance, and it’s going to be an apocalyptic movie. It’s set across different time periods, has high drama, and high-adrenaline moments.”
She added: “I’m here as the dragon with fire.”
Sobhita describes her role as completely different from what she has done before, full of energy, packed with martial arts sequences, dance, intense action, and powerful performances. She expresses a lot of pride and excitement about this character and the film.
The story reportedly revolves around a rural gangster who protects his people. After surrendering to the police to escape his enemies, he discovers that the threats inside the prison system are even more dangerous than those outside.
The film marks Sobhita’s return to Tamil cinema after her appearance in Ponniyin Selvan II.
While Sobhita has earned appreciation for several performances, she is still waiting for a film that delivers both major commercial success and widespread acclaim centered around her role. Her recent OTT release Cheekatilo also failed to give any significant boost to her career graph. Because of that, many will be watching closely to see whether Vettuvam becomes the breakthrough project that elevates her into the top tier of leading actresses in South Indian cinema.
