At the same time, Suriya is working on a commercial entertainer tentatively titled Suriya 47, directed by Jithu Madhavan. The production is progressing at a fast pace. Reports suggest that nearly 60% of the filming has already been completed.
Although Suriya has not officially announced his next project after Suriya 47, earlier speculation linked him to a biographical film with director TJ Gnanavel. However, recent reports indicate that the actor is still listening to stories from various filmmakers and has not finalised the director for his 48th film.
Amid these developments, strong speculation suggests that director Vignesh Raja recently narrated a story to Suriya. Reports claim that the actor was impressed with the narration and immediately gave his approval. As a result, many believe the project could move forward, with an official announcement expected soon.
The reported collaboration has generated mixed reactions among fans and industry observers. Some believe that despite the failure of Kara, Vignesh Raja remains a talented filmmaker. They point to Por Thozhil as proof of his abilities and feel that he can deliver a successful film with Suriya.
Others are less convinced about the pairing. They argue that Vignesh Raja still has room to improve as a director. With Suriya enjoying strong momentum after the success of Karuppu, some fans feel he should focus on working with more established or commercially successful filmmakers.
