Director Rajiv Menon, who played a crucial role in Vetrimaaran’s recently released Viduthalai 2, has sparked a debate in Kollywood with his critical remarks about unplanned filmmaking practices. His comments, shared in a recent interview, are now trending on social media.

Rajiv Menon pointed out that some directors in the industry have been working on their movies for over 1.5 years, which he believes is unhealthy for the industry due to the financial strain it places on producers.

He criticized the lack of pre-production planning, stating that some directors start shooting without a finalized script and make changes on the fly, leading to prolonged schedules.

Comparing this to Hollywood standards, he mentioned that even a major production like Jurassic Park was completed in 72 days. In contrast, some filmmakers in Kollywood take an excessive amount of time, even for small-budget films, due to poor planning and inefficiency.
