The shooting of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, is now happening at a fast pace, and the movie is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on Pongal 2026.
Recently, the announcement promo for Atlee and Allu Arjun’s project was released and has become a major topic of discussion. According to reports, this project was initially narrated to Vijay, but he declined the script due to his political commitments.
Following this news, Vijay fans have expressed their disappointment, commenting that if Vijay had not committed to full-time politics after Jana Nayagan, he might have starred in potential sequels like Leo 2 and GOAT 2, Atlee’s ambitious project, and other films within the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) involving characters from Leo.
These projects were reportedly close to being confirmed. If Vijay had not entered politics, they could have been his immediate future films.
Furthermore, directors such as Vetrimaaran, Karthik Subbaraj, and Magizh Thirumeni have already narrated scripts to Vijay. If these collaborations had materialized, Vijay’s potential as a pan-Indian star would have significantly increased.
However, these projects are now unlikely to happen as Vijay is set to transition into full-time politics after Jana Nayagan. Consequently, some Vijay fans on social media have commented that he should have continued acting for another five years to complete these potential films before fully dedicating himself to politics, suggesting that Vijay has missed out on significant opportunities.
