A tragic plane crash in Louisville, Kentucky, has claimed seven lives. The UPS cargo plane, carrying three crew members, went down soon after taking off from the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport on Tuesday evening.
FAA Confirms the Fatal Crash
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that United Parcel Service Flight 2976 crashed around 5:15 pm local time. The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft reportedly burst into flames after running off the runway, leaving at least seven dead and several injured.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said multiple people suffered injuries in the crash. Reports suggest the aircraft carried a large amount of fuel, which worsened the fire and made rescue operations more challenging.
