Another Indian American is going to run for a legislative position in the USA. 32 year old Niraj Antani has announced his candidature for the House of Representatives. Niraj is the youngest Indian-American state or federal elected official in the United States. Niraj is aiming for the seat from the second congressional district of Ohio.
Niraj Antani is a Republican state senator from Ohio. He also is the first Hindu and Indian-American State senator in Ohio. Niraj said he is going to be a warrior for the community and would fight against those who seek to wreak havoc on the community.
He announced his candidature after the previous Republican congressman Brad Venstrup announced that he will not be running for re-election from Ohio. If Niraj Antani gets elected, he will be the first Hindu Republican member of the Congress in the history of the United States.
The election is scheduled for next year and the voting will take place on the 19th of March, 2024. His election would increase the representation of the Indian community in the US.
