A 45 year old NRI woman, who worked as an IT professional in Australia, committed suicide in Bangalore. The woman had been fighting a battle of custody for her 17 year old son and 13 year old daughter who were under the custody of Australian Child Welfare.
The teenage son of the woman had been chronically ill and when she lodged a complaint against doctors treating him for neglect, they got angry and reported the woman to the Child Welfare for not taking proper care of her children. The authorities then took custody of both her children.
The woman wanted to transfer her children to an international school in India and therefore was fighting for their custody. However, this three year long fight was proving to be pointless and when the court postponed the next online hearing of the case to November, she couldn’t take it anymore.
The woman wrote a note that she sent to her family in Belagavi in which she accused the New South Wales Department of Communities and her neighbours for messing up her life.
Sadly the children were not able to attend the last rites of her mother because the Australian authority didn’t allow them to leave the country without the proper documents.
