It’s become common to witness Indian students flocking to foreign universities in the US, Europe, and other countries. However, a new and interesting reverse trend is emerging.
The MBBS medical degree is renowned for its toughness and dedication, with India upholding high standards in this field. While countless Indian students pursue tech and other degrees abroad, NRI parents with Indian-born students in countries like the USA are increasingly favoring sending their children to India for MBBS due to the education quality and the possibility of securing a seat through the NRI quota.
But, this year’s NEET exam brought a surprising turnout, with 20,38,585 candidates participating, including a notable number of foreigners, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates aiming for medical degrees. While a significant portion of these international candidates successfully passed the exam, many are sharing a common concern: their names are mysteriously missing from the list of eligible candidates.
This unexpected shock has left NRI students disheartened. They had high hopes of securing seats in India, but the prevailing confusion and lack of clarity have turned this anticipation into substantial disappointment. Consequently, they are voicing complaints about the systems in place in India.
