Another Indian Killed In US: American Dream Turns Horror

Police investigate New York delivery shooting

In another tragic incident, 28-year-old Gurdeep Singh from Punjab was killed while reportedly making a pizza delivery in the Richmond area of New York.

Gurdeep Singh had moved to the United States around 13 years ago and was working in New York. He was reportedly on a delivery run when attackers stopped him and opened fire.

His father, Pyara Lal, suspects that the incident may have been linked to a robbery. The family has appealed for his body to be brought back to India as soon as possible.

The tragedy comes amid another shocking incident involving 62-year-old Indian-origin businessman Suresh Patel, who was reportedly shot dead during a robbery at his store in Jackson, Tennessee, in front of his 19-year-old daughter.

The two incidents are separate, but both involve Indian-origin men who were working in the United States and trying to build better lives for themselves and their families.

For families back home, the American dream has now turned into an unimaginable nightmare.

These tragedies also highlight the risks faced by immigrants working in small businesses, delivery jobs and other occupations where they can become vulnerable to robberies and violent attacks.
