It is known that Kurnool-based Telugu girl Jaahnavi Kandula was killed in a police car accident in Seattle earlier this year. A patrol car rammed into Jaahnavi while she was walking on zebra lane.
Shortly after the accident, an investigation was commissioned on the same. As a part of the same, a video clipping from the conversation between police officers, humiliating the demise of Jaahnavi went viral on social media a couple of days ago.
In the video, officer Daniel Auderer is seen saying “she’s 26 anyway. There’s very little value to her. Just write a check for $11,000.” There was a huge uproar for this sly remarks on the accidental death of Jaahnavi.
Now, the officer has responded to the criticism and he commented “my comments weren’t intended to belittle the death of the lady. I didn’t know the full degree of the seriousness of the issue. My statement was taken out of context. There was a lengthy recording in total but only a small bit is being carried by the media” he stated as he defended his comment.
There’s a widespread consensus to take stern action against the concerned police officers.
