In the midst of the Indian OTT landscape dominated by hyper-masculine shows such as Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, and more, a refreshing change came in the form of an actress who was believed to have concluded her career in movies. She brought us Arya, a character who confidently held her ground among the towering figures like Munna Bhaiya, Hathiram, Kaleen Bhaiya, and Ganesh Gaitonde.
Ram Madhvani, the visionary director behind films like Neerja and Dhamaka, introduced an intriguing concept—a housewife willing to go to any lengths to protect her family. This premise was not only beautiful but also brilliantly portrayed by Sushmita Sen, captivating the audience. Arya found herself immersed in the world of crime while safeguarding her family, becoming the focal point until the end of the second season. Now, the creators have announced the third season, set to release on November 3rd.
Arya, once completely detached from the world of crime, had to confront mafia elements. Her charismatic character arc is truly something to admire. The recent teaser of the third season depicts Arya being shot while flashing back to iconic moments from the previous two seasons. The question remains: will she make a triumphant comeback, or is this the tragic conclusion to her journey? We must patiently await the show’s release on Disney+ Hotstar to find out.
