Kollywood film Anbe Diana starring Pari Elavazhagan in the lead and directed by him, was released in theatres on 17th July and received positive responses from audiences and critics.
Many viewers, after watching it in theatres, claimed that Anbe Diana is one of the good comedy films released in Kollywood in recent times and highly appreciated the acting performances of the lead actors, Pari Elavazhagan and Ramya Ranganathan.
Despite the positive responses, due to overcrowded releases at the time of its release, Anbe Diana went unnoticed and completed its theatrical run with an average status.
Following its average theatrical run, Anbe Diana started streaming on the Sony LIV OTT platform on August 28th in five languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Since the film received positive responses from theatrical audiences, many believed that Anbe Diana would emerge as a huge blockbuster on OTT and that many people would celebrate it after its OTT release.
However, surprisingly, OTT audiences are sharing average responses to the film. They suggest that although the film has some good comedy portions, the first half feels completely flat. They claim that only the last 20-minute climax sequence is solid and other than that, Anbe Diana is just an overrated film.
Ultimately, with mixed reviews from OTT audiences, it remains to be seen how Anbe Diana is going to perform on the platform and whether it acquires a decent number of viewers in the following days.
