Prime Video is set to strengthen its presence in India’s reality entertainment segment with the launch of Alliance, its first-ever daily reality show. The unscripted series will premiere on June 26 and stream across India as well as 240 countries and territories worldwide.
One of the biggest attractions of the show is Kunal Kemmu taking on hosting duties for the first time in his career. The actor has earned appreciation over the years for his versatility and ability to perform across different genres.
Kunal Kemmu is widely recognised for portraying Laxman in Golmaal and delivering a compelling performance as a morally conflicted cop in Abhay. More recently, he received praise for his directorial debut Madgaon Express, which connected well with younger audiences.
Given his diverse body of work, there is considerable curiosity about whether viewers will embrace Kunal Kemmu as a reality show host. Early reactions appear encouraging, and many believe his screen presence could translate effectively to this new format.
Originally created by John de Mol and developed by Talpa Studios, Alliance marks the first international adaptation of the acclaimed Dutch reality format. The Indian edition is being produced by Banijay Asia, a company known for delivering successful unscripted television content.
The competition will feature sixteen contestants entering the show in pairs. Participants will form alliances that may become their greatest strengths or lead to their downfall as the game progresses and challenges intensify.
As the competition unfolds, contestants will face shifting loyalties, strategic decisions, and tests of trust. Ultimately, only one participant will emerge victorious, making every alliance and decision crucial to survival in the game.
Alliance is also part of Prime Video’s special Prime Day lineup this year. Fresh episodes will be released daily at 12 noon, offering viewers a consistent dose of reality entertainment throughout the season.
