We have seen movies based on relationships between a dog and a man (Charlie 777), elephant and a man (Junglee), even cats find a place in a man’s life (Andhadhun). This one is different.
Zee5 brings this new movie called “Lakadbaggha” directed by Victor Mukherjee. Its stars Anshuman Jha, Milind Soman and Ridhi Dogra in lead roles.
Arjun Bakshi played by Anshuman Jha teaches martial arts to kids. He is an animal lover and also owns a dog, Shanku. But one day when Shanku goes missing. In search of Shanku, Arjun discovers an animal trafficking gang handled by Aryan (Paresh Pahuja). While on the quest he comes across this Indian Striped Hyna (Lakadbaggha). Also, he meets Akshara who is a crime branch officer.
The story follows several twists and turns. But it lacks the impact of what a vigilante movie like this should have. At times the story feels like a documentary about animal trafficking. The dialogue and scenes of mistreatment towards animals seems to be forced.
Still what works in favour of the movie is its crisp action and acting of the cast. Anshuman Jha puts a genuine and grounded performance. Ridhi Dogra is convincing in her role. Others also play their part well. The use of mixed martial art in action sequences provides authenticity to its fight scenes.
Overall, the movie has flows in its writing, but if you love stories based on such topics you can give it a watch. It is available on Zee5.
