Besides flooding the space with so much content and practically making people plead to slow down, they are bringing some good ideas to the table. The venture of Loki is doing great; their Moon Knight exploration again brought faith in the universe, and now, you can believe in ‘Echo’.
Though she has been a supporting character to Daredevil in the comics, giving her a solo series was indeed a brave choice for Disney and the MCU. Also, in terms of recent inclusive strategies adopted by the studios, it is not only good for the business but also good for the viewers.
And as Daredevil is lurking on the horizon, it is indeed a good time to introduce us to one character from the same universe. Also, in terms of the ‘New Marvel’ image, this bloody trailer is indeed a beautiful one.
Maya Lopez previously made her debut in Hawkeye on Disney+ and took no time to grab attention. And this trailer doesn’t make an exception as it’s bloodier than most stuff, and if it is a precursor to Daredevil, we have something really special waiting for us.
This series also marks the 10th series for Marvel, and there will definitely be some familiar faces returning. Besides Alaqua Cox and her splendid contribution to the show, the series will also feature outstanding Indigenous actors like Zahn McClarnon, Graham Greene, Tantoo Cardinal, K. Devery Jacobs, Chaske Spencer, and Cody Lightning. Catriona McKenzie’s direction enhances the powerful narrative.
This will also be the first time when Disney gets out of its traditional Marvel format and drops all the episodes at once. So, binge-watchers, save the date as Maya will go on a journey to seek redemption from Kingpin for her father’s death.
Echo will start streaming on 10th January next year on Disney+ and Hulu will simultaneously enjoy the release. Though the latter one will have the privilege until April.
